If you're like me, you want to get where you're going online as fast as possible. That's why I've become a huge fan of the website YubNub.org, which bills itself as "the (social) command line for the web".
Previously, I used Google as my home page because it loads fast and directed me the information I needed. However, Google's influence has waned recently as I've found more consistent destinations for specific queries. For example, if I'm curious about the history of nearly anything, I'll look it up on wikipedia. If I want to check the spelling of an album track or release date, I'll go to amazon. The beauty of YubNub is that it allows you to quickly query each of those services from a single, quick-loading web page.
For instance, say I was interested in knowing everything about the band Kings of Leon, I could use YubNub to find the bands homepage by typing "g Kings of Leon" for a Google search. Or, I could type "wp Kings of Leon" to learn about the history of the band on wikipedia. Then I could find the pricing and availability of their albumns on Amazon by typing "am Kings of Leon."
Those are only three of the hundreds of commands availabe. But the site's functionality is further improved by the ability to create new query functions if there isn't one available for a particular web service.
I'm already a big fan, so check it out if you want to save yourself some time online.
